School Library Journal:

"The national debut of Lucas Miller [The Anaconda La Bamba]. . . is a reason to celebrate.  The nine songs on this joyous album feature environmental themes, with a focus on U.S. wildlife, and combine educational information, hysterical lyrics and catchy tunes. . . Miller has a gift for cool satire that even older kids won't be able to scoff at. . . Miller delivers educational, fun, and funny tunes that will delight and enlighten kids and teachers alike."

Parents' Choice Foundation:

"Whether he’s giving voice to a butterfly’s everyday life and joy of flying ('Goin' Down to Mexico'), or using a non-violent confrontation between a rabbit and a fox to impart a gentle lesson about an essential cycle of life ('I Don't Wanna Be Part of the Food Chain'), Lucas Miller is an irresistible teacher. His very real musical lessons about the animal kingdom score high marks for their clever mix of playful comedy and ear-pleasing, deft melodies."

The Daily Record (San Marcos, TX)

"A singing skunk?  A terrifying pink poodle? A fearless turtle and a dancing anaconda?  Who'd have thought it would take these things, combined with the very unique vocal stylings of one Lucas Miller, to enthrall preschool and grade school kids in the fine art of zoology?  Nay-sayers beware, Miller commands the attention of the school-age sect like a strutting peacock, displaying his ornate plumage, thus capturing and entrancing all eyes.  Only Miller does it with the basics:  a couple of puppets, a guitar and some silly hats.  Thrown into the mix is an accent that is at once Jamaican and at the same time, strangely, New York."

If you have ever been searching for CDs that support science concepts, you may have noticed that there are really quite a few out there. We have listened to most of them and that is why were so excited to find out about Lucas Miller's I Was A Supa-Dupa-Pupa [now titled "Gotta Take Care of the Hive]. Finally a CD with meaningful earth science content presented with very musical production values - great songs and excellent musicianship. From the idea of "Living in Symbiosis" and "All About The Hive" to "Can You See The Connection?" and "A Deer In My Cadillac" kids will enjoy the hilarious lyrics, rockin' grooves and accurate zoology

Curriculum Connections:

"The Anaconda La Bamba (is) a joyous album by Texas singer/songwriter Lucas Miller. . .  A strong ecological message pervades these songs about the wetlands, pollution, wildlife, and pesticides. The humorous lyrics, catchy tunes, and informational content will delight and enlighten."

Parents' Choice Foundation (review for "I Was a Supa-dupa Pupa")

Miller blends well-crafted songs with important science topics including symbiosis, metamorphosis, and the balance of nature. Miller's strength, and secret, is that he does not sing to the children about science concepts, but unveils his topics and themes through stories - real life and reality mixed with the right dose of humor.

Acorn Naturalists, Tustin, California:

"Lucas Miller combines science awareness with a message of hope and restoration along with outrageous humor.  Guaranteed to entertain and inspire!"
